When she is not stranded on Whidbey Island in Washington State, Heather Diamond lives in Hong Kong. She has a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Hawaii, and her occupations have included bookseller, folklorist, community college English faculty, and museum curator. Her writing has been published in Memoir Magazine and Sky Island Journal.
