Pact Press Anthology #2 : The Opioid Epidemic
The opioid crisis is devastating and affects an ever-increasing number of individuals – those afflicted as well as those who love them, and those who spend their professional lives treating them. For many of us, however, the epidemic is conveyed through news bites and statistics; we have no real understanding of what this battle is about in human terms, for those that are struggling with addiction on a daily basis. In this next anthology, we seek to shine a light on the crisis, to illuminate the human impact by publishing the stories of those who are deeply engaged in the opioid epidemic. Net proceeds from the sale of this anthology will benefit a nonprofit opioid treatment center in Raleigh, N.C.
We are currently seeking submissions for inclusion in this anthology, which might include poetry, short fiction, essays, articles or interviews. The deadline for submission is November 1, 2017.
We look forward to perusing your work!
